I think there’s a lot of naysayers and a lot of people who believe Dragon Ball Super was returning. Myself included, but to be fair I was at work when I saw the Tweet by Geekdom101. It wasn’t until later in the day I got the full story doing a simple search. No way in hell is I gonna post about something without getting the official story. Would I love Dragon Ball Super to return to Japanese television?
Honestly, it’s a good thing across the board. It means I have more Dragonball to watch. Considering that it’s something that is dear and heart to me but actually helps me. Just like so many others.
When the fandom gets out of hand
The sad truth while I want this to be focusing on the return of Dragon Ball super anime series. there comes a point when the fandom itself becomes so toxic that they believe their own hype.
I’m not somebody who is going to say somebody is wrong or called them out on their bullshit. In for a long time I was a fan of Geekdom101. there was a time in 2017 and a bit into 2018 or actually spent a lot of time watching his videos.
But like most YouTubers I’ve watched at the time, his videos started to get kind of boring. You can only listen to someone go on about their ego so long. Yes, I believe that Geekdom101 has a big ego and thinks very highly of himself. Good, but it also causes toxins to leak into a fandom. Whether he means for it or not. It happens, every community has those who wanna get rich off something. Say what you will about it. He’s a YouTuber, he makes videos about Dragon Ball because he gets paid to do it.
Maybe when he started it was about the fandom, 8 years ago yes. Once you start getting paid to do it, it changes how you view it. Disagree with me? Let’s have a discussion about it.
Would it be safe to say he was an inspiration?
In a roundabout way but there comes a point when somebody becomes so hyped up that they actually start becoming the very thing that they fight. Now he’s a click baiter he really is and I think anybody really watches his videos knows.
There are two things you never want to do when it comes to reporting news.
- Never report fake news.
- Never report the news without a reliable source.
Is Dragon Ball Super Returning?
No, it’s not. As much as I would like to say that Geekdom101 was lucky enough to be the very first YouTuber to make the official announcement. That Toei Animation was returning with a new Dragon Ball anime whether it is Super or not is outright funny to me.
It’s false. It’s me it comes down to clickbait. Know whether or not it was a joke I honestly haven’t taken the time to actually watch the video. But there comes a point that even when you’re making joke things can get out of hand really quickly.
Fans are naive
Sure that’s probably pretty mean to say. individually as people were smart but when it comes to the groups we’re stupid. I will state this right now if Dragonball is going to return to television in Japan whether it be another Dragon Ball super season a completely new Dragonball series.
The official announcement will either come from the original Creator or Toei animation themselves.
I’m going to bet the Toei animation would actually really see information first. I know I tweeted about it when I saw the video and it started seeing people talking about it.
Trust the official sources
Here’s a scenario for you. Let’s say a top YouTuber who makes Marvel videos makes a video about Marvel next phase being secret Wars and how they’re the first one to announce this news. I almost guarantee that 90% of people who watch that video would call him out and say he is lying.
There are just some things you simply can never go on especially when it comes to outside sources from the official source. Don’t take it from me, go search his video by looking up Dragon Ball Super Returns and you’ll find it. I’m amazed at how he’ll do anything to get views now. I’ve never been someone to attack someone, god knows I could use the views. Truth was, deep down I WISH it was true, which is why I’m writing about it!
What about the Broly movie?
Yes, Dragon Ball Super Broly as a huge success both in Japan and America. am I surprised that FUNimation was the one who actually came out and denied that the report that super was returning us false? actually, I’m not really surprised by that. I’m actually surprised it went so far as to even donut article on comicbook.com.
Some people might argue that he’s suffering because of the lack of Dragonball content. So any news is good news for a niche channel like his. Is probably one of the main reasons why I branched out so early on. I’ve always considered Majin Planet a place for geek entertainment than just being a Dragonball website.
Honestly, I don’t think there’s any harm and what geekdom101 did whether it was just to get a rise out of the community. Perhaps maybe he talked to somebody or got a legitimate source and that information was leaked out before it was officially announced. I guess only time will tell.
But a rule of thumb never believes a YouTuber when it comes to big news like that especially if it hasn’t been officially announced by the company who’s actually doing it.
Just saying. This is a rumor, there is even a Reddit Thread which I’m sorry Mr. Geekdom, I’m gonna trust over you. I thought, a question to my mind, would they try to keep this hidden? Maybe, but why? It again is a good thing. Maybe the name of the series, what it’s about would be hidden but would it be so hard? For them to agree, yes we’re working on a new Dragon Ball anime. Truth is, at most we’re not gonna see anything even go into work until 2020.
