The summer has come to a close, for me anyways, being August now, I’m heading back to work, it makes it harder to keep up writing good content on a daily basis. Today, I’m going to bring you a treat, the Evil Dead.
The Evil Dead is a really amazing movie and I’m talking about the 2013 version that came out earlier this year. What an amazing movie that was, shocking I thought it was going to be terrible as reboots/remakes generally tend to be.
I was totally wrong with this one, the story plot is pretty much the same as the original film, the casting is different and the reasons they’re all there in the first place is. It’s darker in tone, more gore in the style you expect from this series. I was brown away on how amazing the movie came together, not just with the acting, the character you hated and loved and the music.
Just on the score I have to give this movie a 5 out of 5 and that’s just the music tone it gives us. Maybe I’m a little bliss, the movie has its flaws like every movie but it does an amazing job keeping your eye off the flaws and to the action.
I can’t wait to see the next one, I waited a long time to review this movie simply because I wanted a chance to sit down and watch it a few times before I could give it a solid rating. I pick up the Blu-ray version which was amazing. I haven’t check out the special features yet but I’ll be down to do that soon.
Overall Evil Dead is a fantastic example of taking a really silly and old movie and idea (Evil Dead 1981) and bring it up to the level of horror you’d expect today with while keeping to the source and not forgetting what it’s about. I totally recommend you head to your local store and pick up a copy today.
