I've been working on anime music videos ever since former Majin Planet creator Corrupted Avatar sent me Adobe Premiere and pointed me in the right direction. Most of my first videos were Dragonball Z and weren't bad, but I've improved a lot over the years, expanding into more progressive music, which is my style, and more variety of anime, which is always good. Here in Cryptic Aura Studios you will find my newest videos, starting with Naruto's Home. A video using a song from my favorite band Dream Theater (even got a comment from the band's drummer himself after emailing it to him!) and I hope to continue to create awesome anime music videos for Majin Planet under the Cryptic Aura Studios banner!

| The 10 Star Fan Rating System

The Music Videos subjected to Majin Planet are rated by the fans and the fans alone. Long ago we gave up on the idea of rating our own videos, due to the fact that we as Music Video creators see our videos in a much different light then the average AMV fan. With each new video released we put up a poll with choises between 1 - 10 stars, 1 being the worst, 10 being the best, and for the next 2 months there after we let the fans vote away. At the end of 2 months the poll is taken down and the appropirate amount of stars are put in its place.
Majin Planet believes its rating system is accurate and to the point. However, in some cases a movie may show particular excellence in a specific area, an aspect that we believed needed some attention. The following awards are to show the user that this movie shows OUTSTANDING usage in the following areas.

| Ayreon "Beyond The Last Horizon"
|
The concept of this video is told by Guts, and all the lyrics of the song are from his point of view. Some of the lyrics convey Guts' experiences on the battlefield. But the lyrics during the chours of the song bring out the true concept by describing how Guts looked up to Griffith, and how he understands the troubles Griffith is going through. The main concept is the relationship between guts and Griffith; as partners on the battlefield, as best friends, and as mortal enemies (immortal in Griffith's case).

I started this video, probably before The Path of Least Resistance... I can't remember, but it was way back last summer. I had started it, then took a break to work on some other videos while I waited for more footage to become available as new Naruto episodes were coming out. I also needed to download a couple Raw episodes that I didn't have (just so it would be the best quality possible). Then I let the video sit for a while, it wasn't until the Gaara Vs. Kimimaro fight that I started to work more on the video.

The theme of this video is Kiyomaro's life in and out of "School". In school Kiyomaro is the smart obnoxious guy who doesn't have any friends, simply because he finds them annoying and "not as smart as him". Gash, a boy Kiyomaro's father rescued from a forest in England, comes to Kiyomaro to help open Kiyomaro, and get him to be nicer and get friends and stuff. At first Kiyomaro hates Gash, but when Gash shows Kiyomaro true friendship, and saves Kiyomaro with his demon powers, Kiyomaro learns what he must do to change. And Kiyomaro starts to change, as more demons come to challange him. He then truly starts to beleive in Gash, and they fight their hardest to end the horrible demon battles.

When I heard the song "The Banishment" from Ayreon's very first album. Shishio immediately popped into mind. A while ago I got a request to do a Shishio video, since Makoto Shishio is rarely portrayed directly in a decent Rurouni Kenshin AMV.
So, I had recently gotten my new dell, with a new DVD rom in it. My Rurouni Kenshin box set DVDs wouldn't work on my old DVD rom, but worked just fine on my new one. So I start ripping some footage and quickly get to work on this video.
I cut the song, to skip to the main part of the song (cutting off most of the instrumental orchestrated beginning, but leaving enough to do my story intro) and cut the entire ending off the song, and ended it at the next best place.
It starts out with some text I made myself, introducing Kenshin, showing that he has a task, to banish Shishio. I explain a little about Shishio. I then go to Kenshin as he is about to meet Saitou, and learn of the task he has to complete. He then departs, leaving Kaoru behind.
Kenshin meets Shishio, but Shishio has a couple tricks up his sleeve (or on his glove) that put Kenshin out of the fight for a little while. Saitou then jumps in to take his place, and also fails. Everyone who tries, just can't beat Shishio.
Then Kenshin awakens. And he rises up to banish the evil Shishio, that has corrupted the world to achieve his goals. And our story ends as Shishio burns, and takes Yumi with him... to hell.

| Crystal Method "Born Too Slow"

I got the inspiration to make this video after watching the first episode of Samurai Champloo. The song certianly fits the "music theme" of Samurai Champloo, and it is perfect for the effects I used, and the fast action.
I'm glad I used an original anime in this video, one that hasn't been murdered by countless crap videos. I also chose a song that was more well-known, unlike most of my song choisec (Dream Theater, Symphony X, etc.)
The idea for the title of this video came from Nappy's "The Path of Most Resistance" Rurouni Kenshin (TV) AMV. Just like Nappy I used a Crystal Method song, and just like Nappy, I used a Samurai Anime.
In Nappy's video Kenshin's fights are against very tough opponents, and he has much resistance. In this video, Mugen and Jin fight some not so tough opponents (their toughest fights are against each other). So the title "The Path of Least Resistance" is just playing with Nappy's title, to fit Samurai Champloo.

| Dream Theater "Home (Radio Edit)"

My third Naruto AMV. This one is a Naruto themed video. I've been wanting to use another Dream Theater song for an AMV for a long time, and once I found the radio edit version of "Home" I knew it would be perfect for Naruto!
So February vacation, I started my video. When I reached 2:00 into the song, something happened to my computer, and I ended up losing everything I had done on my video. The project files, and most of the footage, were nowhere to be found.
I recovered the 2:00 preview, and began re-making the video from scratch. It was actually coming out better the second time, because I was noticing small timings I missed the first time.
A nice original thing I did in this video, was using the Naruto "Seal Swirl" as a flashing clip. I know in some of my videos, I put too many flashing clips, that are just a plain color. But, in this video, I make the symbol flash, and do some pretty cool things with it, like the spinning at 1:52.
I was originally planning to end the video with Naruto winning his fight with Neji, but as my progress on the video was delayed, new Naruto episodes were coming out, with magnificant footage of Naruto fighting Gaara.
As raw Naruto episodes are very easy to get when they first go online, I was able to get all the footage I needed rather quickly. I then worked very hard on my video, and finally made it to the part of the song where it switches to the cool instumental part near the end. (4:30).
All April vacation I worked hard on the ending of the video, getting the timing to be perfect. I was trying to use all the footage I could, and conserve footage because I knew I would need it for the ending of the video. I then overshot my target, and had very little room left to show both the end of the Neji fight, and the end of the Gaara fight.
To 1. Try out a new effect, and 2. Conveniently finish the video using as much footage as I could, with the limited amount of time left in the song, I combined the two fights showing Naruto's victory into one.
I made a diagonal bar come on the screen to split the two fights, so they would play at the same time. Then had the bar leave, as I faded out on a clip of Naruto looking serious. I think this is actually my best AMV ending yet!
All the footage used in this video is raw, without subtitles, or cropping of subtitles, or covering up of subtitles. My other two Naruto AMVs, are cropped. But I wanted to make this video perfect by using all raw footage. It's a good thing I have Naruto DVDs, cause the old raws are impossible to find.
