I've been making videos since 2001 and most of them weren't very good until I took a break from editing for about two years and then came back after watching hundreds of videos within those two years and learning more about how to edit and what premiere can actually do. After I came back to AMVs as an editor I made five AMVs and was asked to join CAS right before doing my Rip Off video. I have also become a much better editor since then and I continually try to figure out newer and cooler things to do with my AMVs with one aspect or another.

| The 10 Star Fan Rating System

The Music Videos subjected to Majin Planet are rated by the fans and the fans alone. Long ago we gave up on the idea of rating our own videos, due to the fact that we as Music Video creators see our videos in a much different light then the average AMV fan. With each new video released we put up a poll with choises between 1 - 10 stars, 1 being the worst, 10 being the best, and for the next 2 months there after we let the fans vote away. At the end of 2 months the poll is taken down and the appropirate amount of stars are put in its place.
Majin Planet believes its rating system is accurate and to the point. However, in some cases a movie may show particular excellence in a specific area, an aspect that we believed needed some attention. The following awards are to show the user that this movie shows OUTSTANDING usage in the following areas.

This is the follow up video to my last Advent Children AMV. This time I wanted to do more of a character profile, and to not have as many random characters and action. I thought of re-mastering the Lines AMV, but I thought that one was good for what it was and that there is really not too much I could do, or wanted to do, to improve it. I was also in the dark about some aspects of the storyline, because I had never played the game which I own, so I decided to play at least some of it and to ask my friends about the different aspects of the story. I have still yet to finish the game, but I do know the story much better. I love the outcome of this video and it is a fitting sequel to my first Advent Children AMV.
I wanted to focus on Cloud, and the dilemma that he goes through during the movie and the whole idea behind the video was Cloud being able to let go of his past and to move on with his life. The hardest part when making this video was finding the right song. I searched for a few months to find the best song for my concept and I went through two or three song ideas before I found this song. I was listening to The All-American Rejects CD for the first time all the way through and when I got to this track I loved the beat and listened to it for two or three times before the idea for this video started to come into my head.
This video took me a total of two to three weeks to complete. I edited the majority of this in a four day period of time. I tried to use the least amount of effects that I could, and at first I didn’t want any in the video but from beta testing and from suggestions for many other editors I changed some sections and added some effects. This was also the first AMV that I edited completely in 24fps and I also put the new CAS Intro on this video.

Finally, I complete this video after working, on the video, off and on since mid December of 2005. The reason is, I haven’t had that much time to work on AMVs and when I did have time I didn’t feel like editing, but I sat down and said that I need to finish it and did just that.
I heard this song about a year ago. I heard the song, Seven Years by Saosin and then started searching for other music by them. I found this song online and it was a demo song at the time. I had originally thought of using Cowboy Bebop for this song, but I never put that idea into action and I ended up making a Bebop video using a Sevendust song instead. I didn’t really think of editing a video to this song for a while after that, until I saw they had a new EP out which included the official version of this song. The song on the Album sounds a little bit different than the demo, mainly around the 1:18 mark for the interlude section. I still love the song, the official version sounds better than the demo version, mainly because it is a cleaner recording.
I decided that I want to use this version, of the song, in an AMV. The question, I had, now was which Anime would fit the song. I decided to use s-CRY-ed while I was watching the box set. I knew the idea wouldn’t be straight spot on the lyrics, but it would fit very similarly and I didn’t need to match lyric for lyric to get my point across. The anime fits well with this song, even without much spot on lyric timings.
I started editing this video with the intention to focus on Kazuma, while loosely following Kanami’s relationship to him. I wanted to keep the action theme pretty prevalent as well as adding some drama and serious sections. This video turned out well, and I have accomplished what I wanted to with it. I loved editing the video and I love the series. This is probably one of the few enjoyable videos I have made, that I actually like to watch.

Well, I should have put these comments up a long time ago. It has been almost a month and I still didn’t feel like it, so I am just going to do it.
As some of you already know, this AMV stemmed off from my track on the 30 Seconds to Mars Multi-Editor Project. After the final mix was complete, I edited the Edge of the Earth track in about 3 days. I showed this track to a lot of people, and my friend told me that it should be turned into a full video. Originally it only had only Akira in it and that wasn’t near enough footage to complete the video with the full song being 4:36 long and the Akira segment being one minute long and using most of the usable footage To keep the same flow of the action I wanted to stay with movies that dealt with the end of the world. I wanted to keep the theme of apocalypse to go along with the edge of the earth lyrics. I decided to include Spriggan and The End of Evangelion in addition to Akira.
I spent around two months making this video, not straight through. I was busy with college starting and with work. Until the last week of making this video I only spent one or two days a week editing this video. I spent the most time on the Spriggan segment, taking me about a month to finish. The Evangelion middle segment, Akira ending segment and Evangelion end segment only took about two to three weeks to complete.
The theme of the video was the end of the world, the apocalypse. Originally I wanted to have a more in-depth story but that got lost during the editing and it became mainly action. I sacrificed the story to make the video more enjoyable and the theme was lost while the action and fun factor went up. All-in-all, this was one of my most favorite videos, and probably one of the only videos I was completely satisfied with after completing it.
When I set out to make this into a full video I wanted it to be my best flowing video. I decided to focus mainly on using layers upon layers with either transparencies or rubber-band fades. Some people have said that I used too much of the same editing style in the video, but I wanted to keep everything very similar throughout. I loved the end result and enjoyed making this video more than most of the other videos I have made in the past.
The encode process for this video took about three days of playing with filters and with the Xvid encode. I ended up not liking the smaller version as much as I would have liked, so I released that for the local link. I made a Higher Quality version for a direct link on my website. I decided to do both so if you don’t want to download the 124 MB version you can get the 85.3 MB Version.

This video was something I felt I had to do since I first saw the trailers of Advent Children. I didn’t know which song to use, or anything like that, but I knew I wanted to make an AMV for sure, I didn’t start editing this until a week after I had the movie, mainly because I was waiting for the American Release, and I found out the release date for America, which isn’t until November, and I am not one for waiting, if I can get the movie already with subs. I did end up having to filter this video, because of the source quality. This video, I mainly wanted to retell the story, and focus on Cloud, there isn’t much story to this video, mainly because I have never played the original game, so I do not know much background, and I don’t want to make a story that may be off center of the actual game, so when I do get around to playing the game I will, most likely, do another video to this anime with a better storyline. This video is just meant to be fun to watch and a summary of the movie. So hopefully I get across the story of the movie with this song and the editing, at least that’s what my aim was.

This video I made for a Friend who asked me to make it for himself and his girlfriend. So He sent me the DVDs and provided to song. At first I didn’t know if I would really like the anime, but as I watched it, I slowly got into it more and more to the point of me actually enjoying it quite well. I also love the song; the song was probably the best fit for this anime. At least for the most part, some parts of the lyrics do not fit the anime exactly, but it is very close. So I tried my best to retell the story in this video. I wanted to base this off of Kasuga’s point of view. I didn’t want to show every single aspect of the story but for the most part the whole theme of how Kasuga is really in love with Madoka, but Hikaru is a secondary character. So instead of showing more of Hikaru, I showed more of Kasuga trying to be with Madoka, but not being able to really confess his true feelings until the end. For some parts of this video you will have had to seen the anime to know what is going on, but for the most part I tried to keep it pretty easy to understand without already watching the anime, but there are spoilers that will ruin the show’s ending, but for the most part they won’t make too much sense unless you have already watched some of the show. I am very pleased with the end result of this video. This is my first total drama/romance video, and it was a good experience, a big change of pace in my editing type, but it was more fun just for that reason, because it was new to me so I had a lot of things to experiment with. This is the first video with the new Cryptic Aura Studios Logo that I designed for everyone in our studio. It would have been on my Rock Lee one but I forgot that it was in 29.97 fps and I didn’t make a 23.98 fps version for Naruto, and I didn’t change the fps of Naruto. It doesn’t look quite as good in 512x384 as it did in 640x480, but I didn’t have any more room for the DVDs to redo the footage into 512x384, and it doesn’t look too bad to make me really want to change it.

Rock Lee Tribute, I had to do this one. I was listening to MSI the other day and Futures came up in the playlist, so I started getting ideas to do an AMV to it, first thing that came to mind was a Rock Lee video and I kept having more ideas on what to do with this song and Anime. So I finally just said I'll do it. This video took me about 2 days to finish. I do not know how long I edited it, it was probably about 15 hours, since this video is so short, but I accomplished what I wanted to with this song. I wanted to make a pretty fun video to watch as well as a parody video and to fit a little bit of the Rock Lee timeline and story in here in this short song. So for the most part I focused on how much of a badass Rock Lee is, and how he gets even better when he is drunk. Check it out, and as always, Opinions are welcome.
I Fixed the Encode on this video, uploaded the final version of this version of the video. With 320kbps LameMP3, so check it out, more comments to come. Anything downloaded Previous of 7/28/05 was the wrong encode, so download this one. I fixed the Video and Audio Quality as well as some of the black flashes were off in the first encode and I didn't notice it when I finished it at 4 AM.

This video originally started out as a second collaboration with Spitfire, but when I got to about the end of my part I wanted to finish the video myself. I ended up focusing mainly on Spike and what he goes through, throughout the Series and Movie. I tried to focus on Julia/Spike relationship a little bit then the fights that Spike goes through for some other parts. I tried to have a storyline a little bit but it ended up being mostly action. I think it turned out pretty well though. You will probably have to have seen Bebop to know what is going on in this video, and I did put quite a bit of spoilers in it.

Finally, I do a Naruto video. I had been waiting to see the fight between Naruto and Sasuke to finish a Naruto video, every time I started one I had to stop because I wanted to base it around the big fight between Naruto and Sasuke, so when these episodes came out, I was just looking for the right song for the concept. Then I got the new 30STM CD, so I had to watch all the episodes and then get all of them in Raws. My concept was to show the Sasuke and Naruto relationship and how they are very similar but at two opposite sides of life.
I used all Raw footage for this music video. I am not too sure how long I have been editing this video for, probably about 3 weeks, and I think its my best video to date, best executed at least. This was the most fun I have had editing since I edited Rip Off.

Wow, I can’t believe I finished this video so quickly. I worked from 4/10-4/15 of 05 on this. This is probably my shortest video as well so that added to the quickness of making this video. This is my favorite video so far, editing wise and I love this song. The inspiration came from only having seen one AMV to this song, and that was in the Mindless AMV Indulgence Project. I haven’t seen many videos using DBZ Movie 2 either and I have had this DVD for about 3 years. I tried to make this video a parody, action and having fun with it. I did add a couple of Comedic Elements as well where the song called for it a little bit. Other than that it was just a fun action video with a bunch of effects I tried to use. I used primary 6 effects, Horizontal Hold, Roll, Noise, Invert, Wind and Crystallize. I also did a few color changes and color blinking with transparency instead of just regular blinking. I thought that the colors worked well with the beats of the song. Other than that the basis for this video was to make a good DBZ Action video that is semi-parody semi-comedy and a lot of action.
