Preservation Record

1999- 2005 "The Subnames"

For the most part, every other week, I was making a new layout for XfireSystems. Learning HTML and CSS as I went, I always would learn something new to do and ways to use PHP for a wrapper effect for the template, so I could only change one file without updating 10+ pages at a time. Using PHP new,s or even at one point in 2002, I started using IP Board to do a lot of the backend for me.

In that time, I had a habit of giving the site a new "subname" for each redesign I did. I honest can't remember the order but I do remember at one point early on I had called it (and a group of other sites) The XfireSystems Network.

  • XfireSystems: Entertainment
  • XfireSystems: Web Resources
  • XfireSystems: Evolution
  • XfireSystems: Revolution
  • XfireSystems: Zero Mission

I also would name everything I did, no matter what service I was making, I tried to make the site a sort of Search Engine called XfireSearch, the forums and chat were called Xfire Online.

For the most part, each version of the site was always kind of the same, my focus was sharing my love of movies, games and anime. So a lot of 2004-2006 was me writing anime reviews of episodes, movie reviews and game reviews. Much of which still exist today in some form or another.

2025 "Rebirth & Preservation"

For a long while, I just redirected the domain XfireSystems.com to MajinPlanet, but over time and due to some money issues, I was not able to keep paying, so I ended up having to let it go in 2011. Right around 2015 I went out of my way to try and get some of my old domain names back and while it cost me some close $200 to get them all back, I kept them until about 2020 when at this point in my life I didn't think it mattered in terms of SEO or backlinking that anyone even had linked to BansheeForce or XfireSystems anymore so I let them go.

But the nostalgic bug bit me in early 2025, and I started every so often checking if I could grab the domain back at a good price. Finall,y in May 2025 I was able to rebuy the domain to which is will now forever stay on this page as part of my legacy and Majin Planet's legacy.

What was Xfiresystems?

1999–2005 • Early Anime & Gaming Fansite

Xfiresystems first came online on February 20th, 1999, and was my first official dot-com website. The idea behind the website was to share not just my fandom of Pokémon, Dragon Ball Z, and Gundam, but also a place to share, at the time, my passion for coding.

At the time I coded in BASIC and JAVA, making PC games for Mac as well as online Java games from classic games like Breakout.

The HIstory of XfireSystems

Honestly, I was in high school when I created the name XFireSystems, it was suppose to be like a joke on software companies that use the word "systems". I wish I still had some of my old content from early 1999, as I'm pretty sure I had an overview page about what XfireSystems' name meant.

Of course, over the years, I dropped the whole coding thing, as my passions moved on to being more of a fandom site than a professional business site. back then everything was coded by me, each page was it's own HTML page. Oh the good old days before real CMS become a thing.

2005 "BansheeForce.net"

In early 2005, I rebranded the website BansheeForce.net. Why? Well,l I thought it was a cool name for one, plus I was starting to think of the site as a way to make money. At the time, I never thought I could make money with the site. It was also the time I started building my own CMS that worked with IP. board. It was the software I using for the message board at the time.

There was also this fear that if I started to make money, I could get sued by the company that owned Xfire.com. To my credit, I had my site up before their site, and so I figured, being that they were a chat software, it was one of the first chat software that allowed you to have an overlay chat in your PC game and chat with anyone from any game. That was the idea, anyway. I never used it, and I don't think it became a thing, and they closed down in 2013, I believe.

It was the summer of 2005 that I was also given ownership of Majin Planet. At the time it had just been reopened after being offline for over a year due to hosting problems.

2006 "The Merger

Once I had gotten Majin Planet in order and was able to get the old domain name back, Majin-Planet.net

I was getting burned out trying to run two websites that almost seemed like they where the same. I wasn't all that into running just a Dragon Ball site. I always wanted to just run a entertainment site, I was interested in doing reviews at that time so I merged the sites together into the new MajinPlanet.com which stands some 20 years later.
