This is one of my favorite episodes, the fighting is badass and I love how Rigby gets all mad when he can’t beat Mordecai at punches. The gags are awesome and I love how they make fun of the style of 80s clothing in this episode. The Death Punch and Death Block are amazing and overall this is an awesome episode to watch.
Basically, Rigby wants to be player one, but Mordecai won’t let him, he calls him out in a game of punches to be player one, which Mordecai beats him stating Rigby doesn’t beat anyone at Punchies, not even Pops. So Rigby acts like a cry baby and destroys their room. In the mist he finds an add to learn Death Kwon Do. Hoping to learn how to hit harder Rigby goes and tries to master the ways.
However, he is stopped when the instructor refuses to reach him this lends Rigby in stealing the Death Punch and becoming powerful. He then goes around beating up everyone at the park (but Benson) in order to fight Mordecai and beat him in a game of Punchies. Mordecai is so far unaware of what’s been happening, goes up to the room and finds out Rigby’s secret.
So Mordecai heads there and steals a move too, and the two have a Death Match with Rigby punching Mordecai. He’s, however, unable to beat him due to Mordecai learning the Death Block.
It’s rather funny when Rigby reveals all he wants is to be player one, so after they reach a point in a large hole, Mordecai realizes he must let Rigby win, so he does. It’s pretty funny and downright silly and I love how they’re making fun of those old Kung Foo movies. Overall I give the episode a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.
