Like last episode, Last Meal, this week’s episode (really last week’s) is base around Muscle Man. This time, Muscle Man is having nightmares and in his sleep he beats up everyone going to their rooms, their houses. He’s a sleep fighter. I found this episode to be really funny and generally episodes center around Muscle Man. Last week’s was the first one that I wasn’t too thrilled about.
We get some really funny moments, basically the crew are being beaten up by Muscle Man, even beating up Skips. The whole Park crew comes up with an idea to tie up Muscle Man, put up some videos and get Rigby dressed up in a police raid outfit (or whatever it was) to stop Muscle Man in the event he breaks out. While sleeping he started to freak out and starts fighting. He breaks out and to Rigby’s horror.. everyone watches as Rigby is beaten up by Muscle Man.
The next day Muscle Man as decided to leave, but Benson begs him to not go yet. Hi-Five Ghost catches something on the tape and they find the source of his nightmares. Turns out that he was babysitting Starla’s niece, she was watching the TV of a creepy show about creatures called Huggstables offering to hug a criminal.
Muscle Man is horrified by them after being force to watch 8 seasons in a row due to the baby crying every time he tried to change the channel. To counter this, Skips asks Pops if he still has the dream catcher he gave him to deal with his nightmares of talking dogs.
As they get ready for the next night, Muscle Man is tied up to the stairs as they’re ready to catch the Huggstables when they come out. However too many come out due to Muscle Man watching 8 seasons worth. This pushes Skips to go and get more dream catchers where Mordecai asked him “Where you get all these?” And Skips replies with. “When you’re as old as I am you collect some pretty weird stuff.”
After they defeat them all, one last one comes out, a giant Huggstable and with no more dream catchers they rush outside to the van where Skips has one attached to the bottom of the van. Making a jump on the ramp they catch the last one freeing Muscle Man from his dream. The episode ends with Pops asking for a group huh. Mordecai ends it saying. “No thanks.”
Overall it was a pretty cool episode, I do feel that the character Thomas is pretty underused and almost has no character, I use to think Hi-Five Ghost was pretty useless given he seem to mirror Muscle Man all the time. But at least as the seasons progress Hi-Five was given more screen time and character development. Given how Thomas came into the show at season 4 so hopefully they given more to the character in the next season.
