A few weeks ago I finally upgraded my old, outdated blackberry for an Samsung Galaxy s4, a and let me tell you I’m happy as hell. In fact this very post was drafted right off the phone itself.
I’m going to keep this short as this is a more first impression than a full review of the device, while I’m not an authority writer on android or cell phones in general I am however able to give you more a common Joe opinion.
First the size, I was never a big fan of large screen phones, you’ll never catch me with a tablet as a phone. But honestly while the Samsung Galaxy S4 is bigger than my last phone its lighter.
The biggest plus for me is the phone has enough memory. Me being as many who have a straight talk smartphone will know 1gb of memory total and even less than that for apps doesn’t cut it. I have the 16gb version and I was able to install every app I ever tried on my older phones plus a bunch that didn’t work due to my is version. And I still have 2gbs left that I can use for apps. I believe I have about 130 apps installed.
I was thrilled with all the features while I use none of them because they drain battery life-like no tomorrow, its cool to know they exist. I’m also a fan of the speed, the phone is really fast but again I was on outdated, Android 2.4 and then 4.0.1 with about 1ghz processed vers what the Samsung Galaxy S4 has.
With 16gb of memory I have no need d to move apps to the SD card, even as a rooted user. My SD card is a 32gb card so combined I should be fine for a few years. My plan does have the option in 6 months to upgrade my phone for free (paying this one-off). So when the Samsung Galaxy S5 comes out I could after 6 months upgrade.
Overall an awesome phone, easy to use and down right what I needed because of the nature of my hobby sometimes I don’t have access to the PC. If you’re a mobile gamer like I sort have become its fast enough to give you access to enough games and loaded with version 4.2.2 you can’t go wrong.
