Over the last few days, I’ve been releasing older posts for macros. My list for PVE and PVP macros I’ve been using the last year and a half. This isn’t, however, the ones I’ve just started to use, something new I’m trying out. Give the release of those macros one of the base macros was your standard Aspects macro into all the shots.
So I was checking up on some blue posts and other hunter blogs and came across a post on Warcraft Hunters Union where Frostheim talks about some blue posts. The one that I read about and responded too was the fact Blizzard isn’t happy that we’re macroing in Hawk to all our shots and Fox to our Steady/Cobra shots. It almost seems like back in Beta for Cataclysm this was gonna be the case.
First I’m not going to go too much into detail about what I said, but if you want to join the discussion you can do so. The blue post was as follows:
We don’t consider that fun gameplay. You’re basically opting out of Aspects as a mechanic and just always benefiting from the right Aspect because you’re “clever†enough to know there is a macro. Usually in this situation we put the “stance’ on the normal GCD or make the shared GCD longer.
So basically I can understand what they mean by this. It’s not good gameplay at all and reminds me of the days of Wrath when you macro in Kill Command into all your macros. Taking away the idea of what Kill Command was. Thankfully they fix that issue in Cataclysm and more so in Mist Pandaria.
My idea was to change what Aspects are today and make them a more meaningful choose in Raids, Arena or Battlegrounds. What I feel like they would end up doing is just as boring as the current design. Les make Aspects like stances and now cost us a GCD every time I need to move and cast something. This creates a style where you’ll see the lazy players sit in Hawk in PVE and Fox in PVP and never switch because it cost them too much DPS.
You can read my long reply and you can comment there what you think or you can post a comment here. I’m not saying my ideas are perfect nor the way I see Aspects in the current game in terms of when you need to use Fox in Raids (rarely) vs having to use it nearly all the time in PVP.
