Well as you know in the past Majin Planet has had it’s own AMV profile section where visitors could sign up and list their music videos kind of like done on Anime Music Videos dot org. Well Over this last day I’ve been working on it and I have to say while I feel that I made some progress with it I have a deep down feeling I’m going to have to rewrite the whole script.

While I believe the script is good, for what I need to do I feel that I need a more general setting and need to fix how the SQL commands are called and give more options. I plan to integrate this script into IPB itself so that users can view, edit and add videos. At the moment I am debating on if I should allow video uploads. Doing so would require lot more server space and brandwidth as well as a stronger server and not a share hosting service. I highly doubt I will go this way with it and make it more of a showcase portal then a upload service. Which would work the same but just means you have to upload the source file else where. Such as the many of free file hosting services or even on AMV.org itself.

At the moment the project is going to take some months. I may not even be able to release it until I finish work on the upgrade process of Majin Planet form IPB 2.1.x to 2.2.x.
