Death Note is one of those shows I never really watch in the beginning when it first came out. But to be honest with you I love this show now that I’ve watched it fully. Its sort of funny how that goes you know which is why you should give it a try even if its outside your normal anime.

Death Note is a simple story about Light who is planning to go to college in criminal justice and follow on his fathers footsteps. But one day when in high school he comes across the notebook that changes his life.

Light discovers the death note a book where if you write someones name they will die by a heart attack. Light starts to fall believing that he must save mankind by killing criminals. Which you know is noble but Light ends up taking it so far that it gets the world’s greatest detective on the case in finding “Kira” the name the public has given Light due to his god like acts.

L, a man with a mysterious past and unknown name, no one knows his real name and Light joins the case hoping to take L down after L expose Kira’s one weakness, he must know the person’s name and their face. I have to say that I really love the story of Death Note, you really do end up hating Light as the story goes long.

All the characters in the story have a part and they play them really well. I have to say I really wished I had watched it from the start because it really sucks you in. A few things I do sort of dislike about Death Note is the fact, they don’t really explore the shinigami in the show, the owners of the Death Notes.

Overall I would give Death Note a 4 out of 5, it seriously would have been a full 5 stars had they given more details about the shinigami and their world. Maybe they will in the future release a manga or short anime about them. We can all hope right? In the mean time, I would love to hear your thoughts about Death Note. Have you seen it?
