Well there isn’t really much I need to say about the movie, first off I was shocked, it’s been out and about now the news for a while, for those of you who are anime fans, you may remember Rurouni Kenshin from the good old days of Toonami on Cartoon Network. For everyone else who are scratching their head wondering who the hell Rurouni Kenshin is, well let me break it down with an entry from Wikipedia.

Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story, also known as Rurouni Kenshin and Samurai X, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Nobuhiro Watsuki. The fictional setting takes place during the early Meiji period in Japan. The story is about a fictional assassin named Himura Kenshin, from the Bakumatsu who becomes a wanderer to protect the people of Japan. Watsuki wrote this series upon his desire of making a shōnen manga different from the other ones that were published in that time, with Kenshin being a former assassin and the story taking a more serious tone as it continued. Although the tragic tone was highly expanded as the manga advanced, Watsuki became determined to give it a happy ending as it was aimed at teenagers.

That’s being said, the movie look freaky AWESOME! For those of you, the poor souls who just so happen to go to the movies and watch Dragon Ball Evolution.. I’m sorry first off. You may be asking. Oh great they are making a movie base off another anime.. the sky if falling. Well while I would agree with you that could be the case, this movie is being done in Japan, meaning they are making it with Japanese actors. Given Rurouni Kenshin takes place in Japan and its for the most part about an era of Japan history, it only seems fitting.

The trailer above has English subtitles, the movie will be release in Japan and likely wont see an English Release, from what I’ve been able to gather but I could be wrong. If nothing we’ll get a Sub version and not a dub, which is fine by me. If the movie comes out here, I’ll be there to see it.
