The Future of Majin Planet: My Vision for 2026

By

Majin Planet

I want to pull back the curtain on the future of Majin Planet and share where my head is at regarding the content I’m making for you all.

First, a bit of honesty: I don’t do this for the money. I don’t need this to replace my 9-to-5 income. Even if this site or YouTube reached a point where it could match my salary, my heart’s goal would be to keep my current lifestyle and reinvest every extra cent right back into the website. This is a passion project, and that’s how it’s going to stay.

Restarting the Fight Club

Right now, I’m working hard to bring back the Fight Club. I’m trying to get the word out, though I’ll admit I’m not sure what the AMV (Anime Music Video) community looks like these days. The last time I checked the old .org sites, they seemed pretty quiet, which is a bummer.

Regardless, I’m going to keep promoting it. I’m hoping the contest will be a true “return to form” by the end of the year. Along with that, look out for Majin War this summer and the return of King of the Hill.

The Road to 2026: Daily Content

What does 2026 look like for Majin Planet? Daily content. Period. With my current lifestyle, there’s no reason I can’t provide 1–2 updates every day. I’m in my early 40s, single, and have a steady job with no debt. Too much of my free time is currently spent scrolling through random videos on my phone without actually getting things done. I want to break that habit. They say it takes 30 days to build a new routine, and since I’m off work this week, I’m using this time to lay the foundation.

Starting this Saturday with Prime Talk, here is our new weekly schedule:

  • Saturday: Prime Talk
  • Sunday: Extra Content
  • Monday: Kamen Rider
  • Tuesday: Toy Content
  • Wednesday: Ultraman
  • Thursday: Super Sentai
  • Friday: Marvel or Godzilla

Deep Dive: Reactions and “Prime Talk”

Prime Talk is returning to its roots: me talking about upcoming toys, my initial impressions, and whether or not I plan to buy them.

Regarding my reactions for Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, and Ultraman, I’m changing how I handle releases. I’ll be dropping 3–5 episodes at a time as Early Access content on the site. Later, those will move to YouTube, generally a few episodes behind.

For new series going forward, I’ll be offering three versions:

  1. Edited Version: Standard reaction, eventually going public on YouTube.
  2. Extended Version: Hosted here on the site. I won’t mute the audio or edit around YouTube’s copyright bots. (Note: These aren’t full uncut episodes, just the reaction without the heavy “fair use” editing).
  3. Time-Based: A “watch-along” style. No post-show discussion, just a timer on screen so you can sync up your own copy of the show with me.

For context, Early Access will require a free account, going forward, Time-Based will be free, no account required to watch. Extended version will require a Super 1 account. You can upgrade for just $1.99 a month.

A Different Kind of Toy Review

When I watch toy reviews, I just want to see what the toy does. I’m a huge fan of Transformers, Sentai, and transforming robots. I don’t care about the box art, the number of joints, or if a tiny accessory is perfectly painted.

My videos will be 15–20 minute focused shows. I’ll talk about a specific toy or a full line (like a Sentai team) and how they feel to a collector who actually bought them with his own money. No scripts, no corporate fluff—just my honest thoughts.

Podcasting and Blogs

I’ll be honest: doing a solo podcast is hard. Majin Cast is on pause while I figure out a better format, but it’s not dead. In the meantime, I’m launching two monthly shows next month:

  • Penny for the Poor: A dedicated gaming podcast.
  • Toys are Trash: A deep dive into toy collecting.

On the written side, expect 2–3 blog posts a week. I’m getting back into written reviews for both old-school classics and “end of series” recaps for the shows I’m currently watching.

I want to hear from you: Does the AMV community still have a pulse? And which of the new weekly segments are you most excited for? Let me know in the comments!
