Well the design of the new Majin Planet has really come together in the last few weeks. I have to say I thought it was going to take me a year to do this. Besides the admin area of the site that needs lot of work for the most part the user end is almost ready.

I got around to installing the new video player which is lot better, has better features such as the user of full screen. I know lot of the fans are sick of the small windows as well as the pop-up windows. The next step in these players is to switch to a sort of video page. Something that has a bigger video screen, rating and comments for members. This is not going to be released in the new Majin Planet but will be on the list of whats next to come for the site.

Speaking of which I have switch over lot of content areas to flash boxes. One of my main reasons for doing this was because its faster. I know that some will say they hate flash and I do too, but I believe the places I’m using it such as scrolling content makes it useful. I’m at the moment testing it for normal non-scrolling parts to see if it’ll work out better. So far no go. However the real test will be in a week when the first wave of public beta testers (at the moment limit 5) take a crack at it.
